JAEDON ASO

My name is Jaedon Aso a current second year sophomore of SMCM. My major is Art Which so far is very enjoyable. I am currently on the St. Mary's College of Maryland track and field team where I currently hold two school records and striving for more. I am on my 10th season overall running track and field, and it has been an amazing journey with lots of ups and downs so far. One fun fact about me is that I actually have been doing track longer than most professional athletes that do the same sport! Also, my first steps were actually running when I was little back then I completely skipped crawling, and even walking and went straight to running. I love to cook, and I have been cooking and learning new cultural foods since I was 7 years old, so to me now cooking is one of my relaxing activities I love to do here and there. I am half Nigerian, so I also have the ability to always learn how to cook new traditional foods from Nigeria and experience those same traditions today. I also really love to travel and growing up I used to travel a lot and see new parts of the world that I have never seen in my life before. This also plays a role in track and field because most of the aspects of that sport involve traveling and to me that makes the sport and life a whole lot better and exciting to be in. I have two career goals in mind and that Is to take my talents to the next level and become a professional athlete and compete in the Olympics when my collegiate career is complete. My next career goal adding to that is to become an Interior designer and hopefully design my future home and make the homes of other the best place to live. To me just sitting in a blank room and thinking for hours on how to decorate it is fun and exciting for me as I believe it brings out an artistic side of me. I feel like taking this class is setting me up to further enhance my interior design skills and find new ways to design rooms or the inside of homes and bring my ideas to life. One last fun fact about me is that I was on Team USA Track and Field (USATF) where I competed in the Junior Olympics and allocated a total of 4 medals, 1 Gold, 1 Silver, and 2 Bronze, and became a Regional Champion and qualified for the National Championships. All in a month and a half. Although My story seems short it shows how determined I am in life.
