A good example that I came across of visual culture that specifically uses visual effects and motion design is the main opening title of the stranger things series. Of course this definitely isn't fine art but it is a strong example of how some Digital tools were used to build this sense of suspense and identity. What interests me the most about this is 1. the color scheme. Red and black are one of my favorite colors and I love the way they combined proceed to set the tone for whatever you're watching. And one other thing that interests me about this is how simple of a title it is while still being very effective to the audience. It doesn't show much but it does tell a lot. Overall I think this was made solely using a combination of 3D and motion design tools as well. From past experience making animated opening titles I've got a feeling this was made with After effects and premiere pro to add the glow, film grain and distortion effects; as well as blender to model the text and animate it realistically.
"How Artists can be part of the new digital creator economy,"
After reading "How Artists can be part of the new digital creator economy," I strongly believe that there is a difference between "Artist" and a "Creator". An artist can't be picked up easily and almost always has some sort of focused practice fixed in intention, conceptual thinking and even craft that has to be developed overtime through various training methods and experimentation. A creator on the other hand can be picked up from anyone. Anyone can be creators if they really wanted too. And if they do it's with the main goal to monetize it and create profit from it. Most do that due to the art makert being too abstract. Although most "Creators can absolutely make meaningful and even creative work, I think this term doesn't always imply the same depth or long term practice and repetition that comes with being an "Artist". Overall this article better helped me see how "Creators" can sometimes feel de professionalizing with a mixed identity while "Artist have a clear identity with discipline and purpose far beyond online visibility.
